Schilt Publishing
Schilt Publishing & Gallery is an Amsterdam house specialised in high-quality photography and art books, and it pairs the books with a gallery of its own that holds about four exhibitions a year. Its stated ambition is to offer “a worldwide platform for its artists” and to be “a family of artists in the old-fashioned way”, which in practice means helping its photographers find exhibition opportunities in public and commercial galleries and working with galleries abroad and photography festivals. Publishing, exhibition and festival work are meant to be one path for an artist rather than three separate services, with the books as the thing that travels.
