Muddyisland
Muddyisland is the imprint of one photographer, Pierfrancesco Celada, founded in 2021 to produce and promote Celada’s own projects. It was born on a small island in the South China Sea and now operates from Murano, in the Venetian lagoon, working with Venetian layout and printing studios. The press is artist-run in the strict sense: the author photographs, designs and sequences each volume, and formats follow the idea rather than the market, from a concertina that unfolds like a ferry crossing to a hand-made special edition of forty copies. A loose series named after the island sits beside separate projects on Hong Kong, a city seen from its pier, its trams and its lockdown walks. Read each book as one chapter of a long diary.
