The second book of the island series. The island lies just a short ferry ride away, a 25-minute journey that separates it from one of the most densely populated regions. The photographer lived there for five years and commuted to the city every day, crossing one of the busiest maritime trade routes, where more than two hundred cargo ships pass daily. The book is a concertina of 35 pictures of that crossing, with the ships counted one after another along the fold.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
