Yard press
Yard Press, an independent publisher based in Rome since 2014, works on experimental publications and underground cultures. Its founding idea, stated on its own pages, is a model of cultural production defined by the editorial approach rather than by the object produced: visual culture, research, underground movements, archives and, since 2017, music. Much of the list gives book form to the archives of scenes that were barely documented, from punk, dark and graffiti circles to Italian and New York nightlife, while newer books are built together with the artist, sometimes by remixing the pictures into a new classification or by shuffling them at random. Editions are small, usually a few hundred copies, and the catalogue also holds records and an unbound series of images by artists who are not photographers.
