Kettler
Verlag Kettler works, in its own words, “on the edge of the Ruhr area”, and it describes its aim as combining ambitious publishing with technical perfection: the house runs its own printing works, so the same team handles content, design and print in collaboration with authors, artists and photographers. The programme covers art, photography, architecture and graphic design, and the publisher says it looks for interesting and unusual subjects and offers a platform to young and lesser-known artists. It also works closely with museums and exhibition venues, which is why many of its books are catalogues made with the care of a printer who is also the publisher. Gunnar Kettler is its managing director.
