Skreid Publishing

Norway · since 2016

Skreid Publishing is an independent Nordic publishing house specialising in art photography, established in 2016 and run by the artist August Eriksson, who founded it with the curator Silja Leifsdottir and the artist Johan Willner. Its stated purpose is to carry Nordic photography across the Nordic borders, working from the platforms where its makers are already established and, for wider distribution, with international houses such as Kerber Verlag, Art and Theory and Void; Centrum för Fotografi in Stockholm is its partner for releases and talks. The name means to migrate, to stride forward slowly and with dignity, in Old Norse. Limited editions sit beside the books, and PDF proposals are welcome.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
