Radius Books
Radius Books is a non-profit publisher in Santa Fe, founded in 2007 by David Chickey, Darius Himes, David Skolkin and Joanna Hurley, and it is built around a model rather than a style. Once its board approves a project, the artist and the press arrange financing through grants or limited-edition sales, and Radius supplies design, editorial and marketing, so the only costs left are printing, paper, binding and shipping. Each print run includes copies donated to libraries, schools and arts programmes that could not afford them. It works with painters, sculptors, photographers and writers, whom it calls the Radius Family, and aims for a list balanced between men and women and between photography and fine art.
