Trolley Books

London, United Kingdom · since 2001

Trolley Books was founded in 2001 by Gigi Giannuzzi and became known for award-winning books in photography, photojournalism and contemporary art, and for first books by photographers such as Alex Majoli, Paolo Pellegrin and Stanley Greene. In 2005 the Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards gave it a special commendation for its contribution to photography book publishing, and two of its books have won the Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Award. Giannuzzi died in 2012, and Hannah Watson, who joined in 2005, continues the house together with the TJ Boulting gallery, which opened in Fitzrovia in 2011; both are based in a Grade II* listed building in central London.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
