Nazraeli
Nazraeli Press began in Munich in 1990 and moved to the United States in 1997, and it is known for an unorthodox use of common materials, paper, wood, plastic and metal, and for adding handwork to mass-produced objects. Its formats are as varied as its materials: postcard-sized artist books, oversized monographs, scrolls, loose cards in plexiglass boxes, portfolios of original photographs. Its best-known series is One Picture Book, a subscription series of sixteen-page artist books begun in 2001, each limited to 500 numbered copies with a signed original photograph by the featured artist. The press also grows olives and presses its own oil on a farm in Paso Robles, California.
