Zoopark publishing

Germany · since 2016

Zoopark Publishing Collective is a photobook and zine collective run by the artists Tatyana Palyga and Alexander Bondar, who have been making self-published books and zines together since 2010 and founded the collective in 2016 as an experimental platform. Their editions are small and largely handmade, experimenting more and more with inkjet printing, and they are distributed in specialised shops in Russia, Europe and Japan. The collective also offers a photobook design service and, since 2019, workshops that introduce photographers to the DIY world of zine- and bookmaking, and in 2018 it ran Zoopark Studio in Berlin, a showroom and publishing office, for three months.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
