Pierre Von Kleist
Pierre von Kleist editions is an artist-run photobook publisher in Lisbon, run by the photographers André Príncipe and José Pedro Cortes, and it states its goal in terms of form: to push the conventions of the photobook, treating it as a mature medium, and to make books that transcend the documentary quality usually associated with photography and address contemporary ways of living. The list shows editions in small numbers, among them a boxed edition of a classic Lisbon photobook limited to sixty copies, and joint projects with other publishers. It also publishes posters, and some of its books are by artists who are not photographers, among them a sculptor.
