Mar Negro is set in Ukraine in the years 2011 and 2012: a summer tale photographed in Donetsk, Mariupol, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Kiev and Balaclava, on the shore of the Black Sea. The rituals of warm days, sun-hazed holiday romances, diving in the lakes, swimming in the sea, long meals, first kisses and electric, sweaty disco nights. Moonlight. A child languidly studies an old bust of Lenin. All summers end. It is a love letter to the country.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
