Ghost

Lisbon, Portugal · since 2011

GHOST is a Lisbon publisher of photography books, founded in 2011 by the photographer Patrícia Almeida and the editor David-Alexandre Guéniot, and its own site says its books articulate a politics of image: critical approaches to the uses of the image and the conditions in which it is received, whether documentary, archival, fictional or appropriated. Guéniot has edited the list in collaboration with artists and photographers, and he also offers one-to-one sessions on photobook design, editing and production, online or in person in Lisbon. A selection of its titles is distributed in Portugal and abroad.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
