It had been a turbulent time for Greece. In 2010, as politicians discussed austerity measures with EU officials, television showed scenes of rioting in the streets of Athens: the country was a spectacle for the media around the world, and the capital was on fire. Reacting to those pictures, Petros Efstathiadis sets up a parallel and ironical universe, designing a collection of rebels with the help of the inhabitants of his small home village.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
