Patrícia Almeida (1970-2017) developed a practice that transformed and evolved through several phases: first a more documentary approach as a field of research and artistic creation, then another in which she began to work and think in a broader sense, as image, and in her last years as discourse, in a more political reflection. Throughout her career books played a central role, reflecting her singular approach: through them she explored the medium in a critical, experimental and playful way, using editing as a tool to investigate the discursive potential of pictures. The Ph. series is a collection on contemporary Portuguese photography published by Imprensa Nacional since 2017.
