Grace and John is a collaboration between the photographer Patrícia Almeida and the performers Cláudia Dias and António Pedro Lopes, made while they were rehearsing the play Where Does the Light Go when it's Off? by the choreographer João Fiadeiro. Through daily rehearsals the performers began to create two characters, Grace and John, whose relationship is ambiguous and flexible: wife and husband? Brother and sister? Friends? Lovers? That ambiguity gives birth to unexpected and slightly absurd dialogues.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
