After fifteen years investigating the so-called death flights carried out under the Argentine military dictatorship, Giancarlo Ceraudo and the journalist Miriam Lewin assembled this account.

From 1976 to 1983 the military planned to exterminate all their antagonists. For roughly five thousand opponents of the regime, destino final — final destination — gained an atrocious meaning: drugged, unconscious and loaded onto military planes, they were thrown, still alive, into the Río de la Plata just before it reaches the Atlantic. Only a few bodies were recovered, and their families are still looking for the remains and seeking punishment for the guilty. Begun in 2003 as a long-term project, the work includes the worldwide search for the aircraft used.
