The third volume looks at a decade of war waged in Ukraine, from Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea to the present full-scale invasion. It visualises the years 2013 to 2023 primarily through the eyes of young people born in the late nineteen-eighties, in an independent country: through their involvement in the socio-political transformations there, their experiences, their fears and their everyday lives.

The recent past marks a period of uncertainty, with local and global challenges, but it was also a time of vibrant activity and of the emergence of civil society, with the flourishing of rave culture and creative industries. The history of the country is the history of a struggle for the future, which continues from generation to generation; in that struggle the recorded image emerges as a crucial tool for documenting and archiving change, and as a symbol and instrument of resistance against war and colonial politics.
