Barbara Probst (*1964 in Munich, lives and works in New York and Munich) studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and photography under Bernd Becher at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. Sculptural works marked the beginning of her artistic career, followed by spatial installations that incorporated photography, up to the conceptual multi-part photo works, the “exposures”, with which she became internationally known. This book presents her new series of diptychs from 2015, more pared down than her previous, mostly more complex multi-part works taken simultaneously from a multitude of perspectives.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
