Barbara Probst, born 1964 in Munich, studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and photography at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. After her beginnings as a sculptor, since 2000 she has worked on photographic series titled “Exposures”, consisting of various shots of the same moment, using a multitude of cameras aimed at the same event or object from different angles and distances. Her picture series create exciting dramaturgies reminiscent of various photographic genres, from portrait to still life, landscape or studio photography.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
