A photobook published twenty years after Mandara Zukan (1988), in which scenes from some twenty years of days are strung together like illusions. Landscapes, street scenes and portraits mix with adult images, among them women in bondage gear and one sexually explicit picture, and no single subject dominates; the editing lets each photograph stand on its own while still forming a subtle overall sequence. In the words of the photographer, those days must have existed, but they seem like a vision: it appears that eternity was never being photographed, only illusions. The sequel, Walk while ye have the light (2011), completes a two-part work.
