A thorough, heartfelt photographic goodbye to the photographer's cat Banko. In the afterword Michio Yamauchi writes that Banko came to live with the photographer in the winter of 2005 and was a constant source of interest and comfort until her death in 2013. About a year before she died the signs of failing health began, and every opportunity was taken to photograph her; eventually she would only take water, and about a month later, on a cold winter night, she wobbled over and sat beside the pillow for a while, her way of saying farewell. Her physical presence is gone, but the feeling remains that her spirit is still there.
