Colorland 1975-1983 brings together for the first time in a single organic volume the colour photographs — almost all unpublished — made by Mario Cresci in southern Italy between 1975 and 1983. These are pictures in which the human presence is often absent, and when it appears it is never the protagonist: what counts is the relationship between things, signs and places. Cresci works on the anthropology of the everyday, on objects, interiors and thresholds, in a body of work that anticipates much of what Italian colour photography would do in the following decade.
