For her work IMMERGRÜN, Loredana Nemes portrayed long-term couples who had responded as lovers to a call in the Ludwigsburg county newspaper. She combines her quiet, mysteriously abstract black-and-white portraits with shots of evergreen plants and adds a further level to these images with poems. Old people, often called seniors, are no beauty ideal in our culture; the depiction of age in art and media can be called taboo-laden. The couples Nemes met embody an enduring love.
