Over four years and as many seasons, Loredana Nemes photographed the beech forest on Rügen that shapes the landscape above the famous, art- and history-laden chalk cliffs. What began as a recreational walk became an impressive long-term photographic contemplation of this forest-sea landscape. The resulting images show an ancient, archaic landscape that has survived countless generations and that future generations are still to experience: the calm, the beauty, the robustness and the fragility.
