Henrik Spohler's photo project Hypothesis addresses, in analytical, documentary pictures, the world of science and research and poses questions about our relationship to nature and the environment. His photographs show experiments and scientific facilities at the edge of the technically feasible. The photo essay of around 50 images is ordered into four areas: in the chapter Time, geological time, time measurement and the existence of the universe are addressed. The chapter Space shows satellites and observatories that probe the depths of the universe.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
