The vibrant, dazzling and electrifying visual chaos of the roads and streets of Vietnam, in equally vibrant and stimulating pictures. More than a documentation of Vietnamese street scenes, the book reminded Masakazu Sugiura of his own life: the atmosphere and the sheer vitality mirror memories of childhood, the freedom of the early twenties and the adventurousness of opening the world for oneself. The photographs of places fully packed with visual information, of improvised spaces and of multiple layers of life existing all at once in shared places seem as if another world were lying in wait. In the afterword Sugiura writes that this liveliness exceeds his reality, that here is the energy he no longer has, and that there he saw his own country.
