Miho no Matsubara, the pine-covered coast in Shizuoka Prefecture, is a famous scenic spot and World Heritage site that draws a large number of visitors, yet Masashi Horikawa's gaze ignores this premise altogether. What the book shows are the smells and moods that permeate places of daily living and the ordinary moments that unfold in rays of light, quietly showing that photographs wait to be discovered within everyday life. It follows Horikawa's 2016 solo exhibition Michikusa wo kuu at Sokyusha Gallery and is the photographer's first book.
