A book of classic street photography. In sharp monochrome images, not afraid of the darker shades of black, Shingo Hiramatsu shot street corners, portraits, odd situations and common sights in the cities of Yokohama, Kobe, Nagasaki, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, focusing on their Chinatown areas. The photographs are presented in no particular order, mixing themes and locations and emphasising differences and similarities. The title means Inside Glorious Cities.
