Black-and-white photographs that capture the delicate, brittle moments of life that appear like a spider's silken thread floating in a summer breeze. Yuko Kotaki shows concrete objects captured at a certain time in space, yet each image seems to hold secret connections to a different time and place, as if it were a reverberation of a greater, sentimental story. In the afterword she asks whether she is a lonely person now and answers that she believes she is not, but simply unstable, like a spider's silk shimmering in a breeze, soft and indefinable.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
