One of the Italian makers best known abroad, Jodice (Naples, 1934) is here given a synthesis of his production, running through the main themes that have driven his art: Anamnesi, Linguaggi, Vedute di Napoli, Città, Natura, Mari.

Across these eighty pictures, made between 1964 and 2011, he ranges from frames that fix the statues, mosaics and remains of the ancient Mediterranean civilisations to an experimental and conceptual interest in the medium itself, from views of Naples and other metropolises to the aching melancholy of his seas — among them some of the iconic works that established his greatness.
