In July 2018, after a five-year trial, the verdict was announced in Munich in the NSU murder trial, which challenged to the extreme the understanding of democracy of those involved, and in which finally Beate Zschäpe, as the only survivor of the NSU terror cell, and four supporters were convicted. For about eleven years the cell committed the right-wing-motivated murders to which ten people fell victim. In 2011, with the discovery of the bodies of Uwe Böhnhardt and Uwe Mundlos, the murder series ended. Markert revisits the places of these crimes.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
