The large-format, impressive images of Ljubodrag Andric (*1965) become harder to classify the longer one looks at them. Even though the artist uses a camera at the start of his creative process, he moves at the interface of photography and painting. Between 2019 and 2024 Andric travelled through the subcontinent and was inspired by the atmosphere of historic buildings to make works that can be described as geometric abstractions painted with light. A special feature of his works is their fresco-like quality.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
