The deeply poetic images of Kathrin Linkersdorff are inspired by the Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy, which emphasises the beauty of the imperfect and transient. The images of the Fairies series, presented here comprehensively for the first time, hold fading moments of transience in the greatest possible finesse. Between the appearance of old-master still-life or vanitas painting and cool, dissecting abstraction, they develop a mysterious fascination. Kathrin Linkersdorff (*1966 in Berlin) is one of the most singular voices in contemporary photography.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
