The Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and the Greek photographer Erieta Attali have collaborated for over 20 years. Their joint creation is characterised by a shared aesthetic understanding of architecture, space and visual perception. In both Kuma's buildings and Attali's photographs, interior and exterior spaces merge and dissolve into one another. Both share the thought that spatial experience is fleeting, shaped by the daily rhythm and the seasons, which make built space a medium: a medium that unfolds into the landscape and prompts people to rethink their notion of spatial boundaries.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
