Shibuya, home to one of the world's most famous street crossings and the heart of Japan's contemporary culture. For this series Nobuhiko Suzuki took nightly snapshots on the streets of Shibuya between 2000 and 2018, two years before the Covid pandemic put a temporary stop to the district's liveliness, chaos and creativity. In movie-like portraits and group shots, Suzuki focuses on the eclectic fashion, the glitz and kitsch, the rule-breaking and the creative conformism that drive the atmosphere of this ever-exciting part of the city.
