The volume records Bellum, a project by Carlo Valsecchi (born 1965). Forty-four large-format frames tell the ancestral conflict between people and nature and between people and people: the use of nature as a defence against the other, and equally the defence of the human against nature.

With the mountain as its symbolic representation, the undertaking starts from an exploration of the fortified territories and constructions of north-eastern Italy tied to the First World War.
