For the fiftieth anniversary of the massacre in Piazza della Loggia in Brescia (1974), Galimberti takes on one of the darkest pages of Italian history, making a large installation in which period reportage, posters, identity cards and children's drawings become art, both marking and amplifying the tension of a deeply dramatic event, and offering the viewer new ground for thought.

For more than thirty years he has worked almost exclusively with the Polaroid, with which he has developed a highly personal technique of taking an image apart and putting it back together.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
