Luuk Wilmering's work is based on questions concerning his own identity, which he evokes by making feints. Despite their common themes and ordinary appearance, the images immediately attract attention. His approach is based on the border where art and life touch. His work includes installations, collages, audio walks, works for projections and artist's books. With his works he paints a striking portrait of helplessness: the inability to behave according to the conventions of social interaction. For the viewer such images provoke from time to time an awkward feeling of mild embarrassment or confusion, and from time to time the images have an element of tragedy.
