"Regards croisés" is a "semi-collective" work: three photographers of the Tendance Floue collective, Mat Jacob, Meyer and Patrick Tourneboeuf, joined with the inhabitants of the northern district of Villetaneuse, who took part in the game of photography with a real stake, that of reclaiming their neighbourhood. "At Tendance Floue we have the desire and the habit of confronting our points of view; it is the first function of our collective. Making stories out of journeys and encounters, telling in order to question. The project, at the invitation of the town of Villetaneuse, was a particular experience for us: sharing with the inhabitants a vision of their neighbourhood, seizing the act of photography to make it a common object, a tool of exchange. It was a pleasure to accompany them in the birth of images and of a story. We live in a time when it is difficult to do things together; these are rare and precious moments. We learned. The result is there, and it shows that, with attention, every gaze counts".

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
