With the founding idea of favouring creative residencies and public commissions, Planche(s) Contact set itself the theme of exploring and rendering everything that constitutes the identity factors of a city. Year after year the invited photographers cast their gaze on Deauville and exhibit their singular vision. The six photographers invited this year are Carole Bellaïche, Nicolas Comment, Larry Fink, Alisa Resnik, Klavdij Sluban and Riverboom, represented by Edoardo Delille, Gabriele Galimberti and Paolo Woods. An exhibition on the beach is dedicated this year to Koto Bolofo, and the carte blanche for this tenth edition is entrusted to Claude Lelouch. An important section of the programme, the young talents springboard, supports creation through residencies awarded to five emerging photographers selected by a new jury chaired by Sarah Moon: Abdoulaye Barry, Grégory Dargent, Chau-Cuong Lê, Jean-Charles Remicourt-Marie and Julia Vogelweith chose to recount the daily life, history or imagination of a territory, with approaches ranging from documentary to portrait and staging.

ABOUT

The project

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.

Images and rights

Covers, interior pages and descriptions are shown to introduce and identify the books, always crediting publisher, author and photographer and linking back to the publisher. We ask publishers for their permission, and we remove anything on request within 7 days. If you are a publisher, an author or a photographer and you want something changed or removed, write to info@spineindex.it.
