Photographing is for me an act of love and a way of facing time's passage, intimately tied to meeting Colette in 1991; I photograph out of desire and need, choosing the moments I want to keep, holding the images of our life at arm's length with an amateur autofocus camera that fits in the palm of my hand, unable to look through the viewfinder, often framing with the uncertain feeling of cutting space in the right place, sure of the moment but less of the instant, so I take several shots of the same scene, the doubt lifting only once the film is developed, the contact sheets giving a complete rediscovery of the moment lived. This is the first volume of a planned four, a photographic journal spanning twenty-five years from 1992 to 2017.
