Absence and presence are implied through these representations of bodies modestly covered in white sheets, lost or found objects, one cannot tell, within that space of intimacy that is precisely the bedroom, a space of return, of affect and delicacy; desire wavers here between play and unease, and so begins the novel of loss and quest that photography evokes, for photography holds an ambiguous relationship with time, snatching its subject from oblivion while carrying the dimension of love, calling out what is essential in the instant and showing us what unites the infinite and the finite, desire and the photographed person.
