In 2014 the Carte Blanche PMU jury was won over by the work of a duo, Léa Habourdin and Thibault Brunet: "we spent two months immersed, going every morning to the PMU 'rally' of a small village in the Pas-de-Calais, and to other PMU betting shops along the Opal Coast, learning how to play, how to read the racing paper, listening to sometimes surreal or tragic stories, living unreservedly the lives of the gamblers we met: hunting stories, obedient dogs, bar-counter jokes, passions, pigeon breeding, the village's sport, and shooting all became part of our life during those months, and we came back with these images caught between strangeness, confinement and abstraction."
