For the series Les Antichambres, Anne Immelé immersed herself in the Rhine urban space at the crossing of three countries, France, Germany and Switzerland; aseptic walls, "planned" ground, empty parks appear as immobile powers suspended between the becoming of time and possible encounters, spaces under construction already carrying the fractures to come, huddled housing like destitute bodies acting as political and poetic presences, revealing the familiar world's undercurrents, the affective charge of matter and its unalterable movement of memory. Faces stare into the distance, sealing a meditative movement with another side of the world, brimming with uncertainty and possibility.
