Thibaut Cuisset seeks to represent, powerfully and discreetly, the essence of landscape. Working with soft, restrained colours, he shows that territory is never fixed but the result of history and multiple interventions. Here Iceland is a volcanic island rich in colour, a mineral chaos stripped by cold, the planet's youngest geological landscape, a desert in constant motion; by contrast, Namibia's desert is an unmoving one, considered the oldest and most arid on Earth.
