Born of the Prix Swiss Life à 4 mains, which since 2014 has paired a photographer and a composer every two years for a shared work meant to be seen, heard and lived, this 2026 laureate project unites photographer Oleñka Carrasco and musician La Chica around an intimate, political project on Venezuela, their shared country of origin. At its heart is an inquiry into a small Venezuelan village's calypso, a little-known rhythm inherited from Caribbean migrants who came to work the gold mines, a past of welcome that resonates with a present marked by mass emigration, crossing photography, text and music into an imaginary, immersive, sensory atlas where ancestral memory and dream intertwine.
