Two men retrace their steps along the Gironde estuary, cycling up from the ocean toward Bordeaux by road and path, each on a different bank. Christophe Goussard makes the journey in black-and-white images on the right bank, in the Blayais, his birthplace, while Christophe Dabitch tells it as a personal account on the left bank, in the Médoc, a place of family ties and childhood memory, the book alternating banks and chapters of text or image, with small colour photographs interspersed among the words like notes taken along the muddy waters of the estuary.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
