"In 2000 I came to Vitré for the first time. Patrick Le Bescont was about to publish, at Filigranes, Bernard Lamarche-Vadel's last book, Mise en demeure. I was twenty-five, had just moved to Paris, and Patrick had taken me on as his assistant; that last book was the first I worked on, the manuscript in my hands.
