Founded in 2015 by Eric Vialatel, the Festival du Regard dives into the intimate and the autofictional, presenting author-photographers who have taken their own lives as the throughline of their work. Among them, the Spanish photographer Alberto García-Alix, whose iconic images of an alternative world marked by death and poetry open the exhibition with his celebrated self-portrait, alongside Jen Davis's eleven-year self-portrait project on body acceptance, Kourtney Roy's cinematic self-staging, and Eva Rubinstein's silent black-and-white interiors, among photographers including Robert Doisneau, Nobuyoshi Araki and Miroslav Tichý.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
